Food and Wine

The cuisine at The Dautaj is mainly Italian but you can also order New York steaks, lamb and seafood. Many of the dishes reflect Northern Italian Cuisine, with the emphasis on richer sauces. You will find many favorite dishes at the Dautaj, including the New Zealand Rack of Lamb, served with homemade risotto and prepared in a barolo wine sauce or the delicious Penne Vodka and other delectable pasta dishes. The meats are always very tender as the restaurant uses only prime quality beef and veal while the fish is brought in daily from the market.

Dautaj's expert staff is available to recommend a wine that will be a perfect compliment to your meal, as the restaurant offers a selection of approximately 75 wines, both white and red, with prices ranging to suit all budgets. There is an Early Bird as well as Children’s menu.

You can dine in the Mystic Room, the larger back room or in the lounge area. The lounge features a comfortable bar where you can enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail or just stop by for a drink when in the neighborhood. Outdoor dining on the Victorian front porch is also available in season. 

The Dautaj is now opened 7 days per week for both lunch and dinner. The lounge is open for lunch, dinner or after dinner cocktails. Reservations are preferred.
